Gail Jamieson, Board Member

I grew up in Vancouver, graduated from Point Grey High School, and worked in a bank for 7 years. But I had spent holidays at Roesland Resort in the 1950s, the start of a lifelong love affair with Pender Island. I married Dave in 1970 and we moved to Pender in 1976 and together raised three boys here.

In the 1980s I helped form the Pender Island Youth Sports Association. With hard work, the baseball field was built to Little League standards. The association was structured so that we could also help other struggling sports. We hold a lease agreement with the CRD for the baseball field and the Disc Park. We also helped out soccer and junior sailing.

In my working life, I had jobs at Roesland Resort, Southridge Farms, the Post Office, and 17 years with CRD Building Inspection Office. I was also a North Pender Island Trustee from 1994 to 1996.

I’ve worked with Pender residents in many organizations for 40 years! Along the way, I gained experience with bylaws, regulatory requirements, and how public meetings can bring forward all sides of an issue. I look forward to working on this new board where I hope my deep Pender roots will be a useful resource.
